Camden COVID Response Unit (CCRU)

The Camden COVID Response Unit is a service is for patients who live in Camden with or suspected to have Coronavirus that require physical assessment for symptoms relating to COVID-19, or other symptoms not related to COVID-19, and requires further investigation after remote consultation with a GP or NHS 111.

The CCRU provides a safe clinical environment to:

  • See patients at the Peckwater Centre in Kentish Town for face-to-face examination.
  • Provide home visits with a taxi service.
  • Oxygen saturation probe delivery service.
  • Take COVID test swabs, for patients that meet the necessary criteria.
  • Telephone and Video consultations with a GP.

How are patients referred to the service?

  • Patients cannot self-refer to the Camden COVID Response Unit, all referrals come through Camden GP Practices or NHS 111.

The CCRU is commissioned by NHS North Central London Clinical Commissioning Group.

  • The hub service at Peckwater Centre is run by Camden Health Evolution.
  • The home visiting service is run by Haverstock Healthcare Ltd.

Both organisations are working collaboratively on the CCRU project to provide a free, safe and effective NHS Service.
